The Cadillac

The Pilates Cadillac workout combines the benefits of a mat workout with the added spring tension20130218_191209 of a machine that Joseph Pilates labeled the “Cadillac”.

The Pilates Cadillac, also known as the trapeze table or “the rack” (because it resembles a medieval torture device), is an apparatus that offers more than 80 exercises based on spring resistance. Benefits of exercising with the Cadillac include strengthening the core muscles while developing spinal flexibility, as well as toning of the shoulders, back and other muscles.

The Cadillac is a popular workout due to the stretching and pulling on the muscles and bones with the spring loaded bars and straps that stretch the body from head to toe. It also helps to 20130218_190633assist or make the existing mat exercises more challenging.
